My pyramid scheme...

I’ve had over 60 coaching calls in the past month or so, each highlighting the necessity to build capacity for creative expansion. The daring, exploratory, exciting work you are dying to do in 2023 is directly related to your ability to stay grounded, present, and out of grind. (See above—sleep comes first.)

It is, as one of my mentors puts it, like the way a tree roots deeper in order to spread its branches.

How to do that—how to balance ambition with support, and growth with depth—is bioindividual. But some basics apply to everyone...

We do our best work when undistracted. We do our best work when we’re passionate, not focussed on pleasing others. We do our best work when we are courageously pushing the edge…But we also do our best work when we don’t provoke a freeze response (procrastination) or a flight response (overbusy-ness).

The question is: What do you use to build your foundation?

My favorite new book on fasting not only considers fasting female bodies in depth, but dives into the scientific benefits behind fasting, while laying out protocols to access those gifts.

In particular—for all my creative geniuses out there—it's great to remember that a 48-hour fast can reset your dopamine baseline, repair dopamine receptors and create new ones. It's a healthy kind of hormetic stress—provided you've got the capacity.

(You'll also learn why to break your fast Pelz style, with half an avocado and a cup of sauerkraut. Will test this asap.)
