Controlled Random
I’m smitten with Rick Rubin’s new book The Creative Act, A way of Being. You? And I loved his recent interview with Dr. Andrew Huberman, during which they discussed the soothing effect of unpredictable movement within a predictable container.
That meant watching fish dart in an aquarium for Huberman, and professional wrestling for Rubin.
I’m curious to hear more examples of this de-stressing phenomenon. For me, there is nothing like the random yet relaxing act of watching our dog Rue attack her toys—a cross between Huberman and Rubin's preferences.

After our time together a new friend, whom I met during one of my FIFTY free calls this winter, revised her routine, made time to return to her poetry, and signed up for drum lessons after six years of procrastination. I love it!
